COPYWRITING + EDITING | With institutional partners including The UF College of Education Office of Minority Recruitment and Outreach, Crystal Stairs, Inc., The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and retail brands including Sue Devitt Beauty, Carol’s Daughter, and Mizani, I have contributed to an array of targeted campaigns distributed via newsletters, website copy, and blog postings, each intended to highlight branded elements and inspire public engagement. In addition, I’ve been published in the New York Times (Opinion), and Modern Painters, and was a past contributor to the Arts & Culture section of The Huffington Post.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT | For nearly two decades I have successfully managed many complex projects, including exhibitions, residencies, educational programming, and public art installations. My ability to oversee all aspects of a project, from onboarding personnel and vendor selection to planning and execution, all while maintaining strong attention to detail, has expanded my skill set in this role.
BUDGETING | As a notable professional artist, I’ve created and managed budgets ranging from 5k to more than $80,000, for exhibitions and other projects. Often working with limited resources, these experiences have confirmed value outside of cultural programming that can easily be applied to roles in other industries.
STRATEGIC PLANNING | My experience in public programming, in collaboration with institutional partners, demonstrates an ability to think strategically about how particular messaging can engage with and impact communities. In addition, my creative expertise has enabled an innovative approach to problem-solving that employs unconventional materials and techniques. These skills could be necessarily implemented in marketing or business development, where multi-level processes are essential.
RESEARCH & ANALYSIS | Having served as a lead for projects requiring extensive research into topics such as history, economics, design, culture, and social issues, my ability to locate appropriate sources (Analog/Digital/Material), and conduct relevant analysis, supports a variety of fields within corporate and non-profit structures.
